Modern and harmonious

Now beginning a work for large ensemble. It will be modern, flowing, seductive and harmonious. In five main sections. Simple, yet complex. Sustained, yet changing. Unified but with fluctuating metrical effects. Joyous. Written with the instrument I know, that is the classical ensemble. Instead of speaking directly to the local (the south downs) it is directed out to the universal. Or a projection of the local to the universal. It will flow with the complexity, indifference and beauty of nature. Towards the infinite. The tension between the everyday and the sublime.
