Interview on BBC South East Today

I thought the interview today would be ten minutes and that’s it - judging by previous experiences of local radio for instance. But I met Peter Whittlesea and his cameraman Ben at 1230 and we spent the next three hours walking around Cuckmere Haven discussing social justice, activism, elitism in music, and the tension between traditions of extraordinary and complex art music and the impulse to share and get people involved in practical ways. Ben turned out to be an expert DJ working on the cusp of trance and classical, doing live sets on mixcloud under the name of DJ Gadget. And in between that that we talked about my music from Cesca Eaton’s amazing film Cuckmere: A Portrait and how it is now on an soundwalk App called Echoes: Interactive Soundwalks.
