Rhythm and movement in round-dance

I am working on Sinfonia, a piece for large ensemble inspired by the sound of English music from c.1400-1600. Performance by the New Music Players at the Warehouse, London on Fri 28 Sept. http://nmp28sept.eventbrite.com

Reflecting on Agincourt Carol - slightly guiltily because although the rhythm and tune are brilliant maybe not a good moment to be appropriating a battle hardened tune all about attacking continental Europe. But this is music which transcends its origins to become something choreographic - all about dance and movement. And it speaks vividly in the language of its own time with buzzing syncopations and inviting the rich, crunchy, third based harmonies that are so characteristic of an English music with positive engagement with continental developments.
